وفد من الاتحاد الدولي لإعلام الأقليات وحقوق الإنسان يزور السفارة البابوية في العراق ويقدّم التهاني بمناسبة تنصيب البابا الجديد

في إطار تعزيز العلاقات الإنسانية والانفتاح على مختلف المؤسسات الدينية والدولية، استقبل السيد Charles Lwanga Ssuuna، سكرتير السفارة البابوية في العراق، وفداً من الاتحاد الدولي لإعلام الأقليات وحقوق الإنسان برئاسة السيد محمود المنديل، وذلك لتقديم التهاني والتبريكات بمناسبة تنصيب قداسة البابا الجديد.
وخلال اللقاء، عبّر السيد المنديل عن أسمى آيات التهاني للكنيسة الكاثوليكية وللقداسة البابا الجديد، متمنياً له التوفيق في أداء رسالته التي تحمل معاني السلام والمحبة والعدالة لجميع شعوب العالم. كما أكّد أن الاتحاد يثمّن عالياً الدور الإنساني والديني الذي تضطلع به الكنيسة، وخاصة في دعم قضايا حقوق الإنسان والأقليات حول العالم.
وقدّم رئيس الاتحاد خلال الزيارة شرحاً مفصلاً عن طبيعة عمل الاتحاد، وأهدافه الرامية إلى تسليط الضوء على قضايا الأقليات ومناصرتهم إعلامياً وإنسانياً، إضافة إلى دور أعضائه في المشاركة الفاعلة في الفعاليات والأنشطة الدولية التي تُعنى بحقوق الإنسان، مشيراً إلى حرص الاتحاد على بناء جسور التواصل والتعاون مع مختلف الجهات والمؤسسات الدينية والإنسانية في العالم.
من جانبه، رحّب السيد تشالز سونا بالوفد الزائر، مشيداً بهذه المبادرة التي تعبّر عن روح التعاون والانفتاح، ومؤكداً على أهمية استمرارية مثل هذه اللقاءات التي تعزز مفاهيم التكاتف والتفاهم بين الشعوب. كما عبّر عن تقديره العميق للاتحاد ورئيسه على ما يبذلونه من جهود حثيثة في دعم قضايا الأقليات، وتعزيز قيم العدالة والكرامة الإنسانية.
وفي ختام اللقاء، قدّم السيد المنديل برقية تهنئة رسمية إلى السكرتير البابوي، باسم أعضاء الاتحاد كافة، كما تسلّم أعضاء الوفد نسخة من كتاب يوثق نشاطات البابا الراحل فرنسيس، لاسيما زيارته التاريخية إلى العراق، التي شكّلت علامة فارقة في مسار الحوار بين الأديان وتعزيز السلام.
يأتي هذا اللقاء تأكيداً على رسالة الاتحاد الدولية، وسعيه الدائم لتعزيز قيم التعايش والتسامح، والانفتاح على كل الأطراف التي تشارك ذات المبادئ في نصرة حقوق الإنسان حول العالم.
Delegation from the International Union for Minority Media and Human Rights Visits Apostolic Nunciature in Iraq to Congratulate the Newly Appointed Pope
As part of its efforts to strengthen humanitarian relations and foster dialogue with religious and international institutions, Mr. Charles Lwanga Ssuuna, Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature in Iraq, received a delegation from the International Union for Minority Media and Human Rights, headed by Mr. Mahmoud Al-Mandeel, President of the Union. The visit was made to extend congratulations on the occasion of the installation of the new Pope.
During the meeting, Mr. Al-Mandeel conveyed the Union’s warmest congratulations to the Catholic Church and the newly appointed Pope, wishing him success in fulfilling his noble mission of promoting peace, love, and justice across the globe. He emphasized the Union's deep appreciation for the humanitarian and spiritual role of the Church, especially in advocating for human rights and the protection of minorities.
Mr. Al-Mandeel also provided a comprehensive overview of the Union’s objectives and activities, highlighting its media and advocacy work on behalf of minority communities and its active participation in international events and initiatives related to human rights. He stressed the Union’s commitment to building bridges of cooperation with religious and humanitarian institutions worldwide.
Mr. Charles Ssuuna welcomed the Union’s delegation and commended the visit as a valuable step toward enhancing mutual understanding and collaboration. He expressed his gratitude to the Union and its president for their dedicated efforts in raising awareness about minority issues and promoting values of justice and human dignity.
At the conclusion of the visit, Mr. Al-Mandeel presented an official letter of congratulations to the Secretary of the Nunciature on behalf of all Union members. The delegation also received a copy of a commemorative book documenting the activities of the late Pope Francis, with special focus on his historic visit to Iraq, which marked a significant milestone in interfaith dialogue and peacebuilding.
This visit reaffirms the Union’s global mission and its ongoing dedication to fostering coexistence, tolerance, and engagement with all partners who share a commitment to the advancement of human rights around the world.
